Dr. Alice W. Brumley, DNP, has her board certification in Adult-Geriatric Primary Care. She provided primary care services to a large adult population at a family practice in Boca Raton, FL. She is well versed with Medicare services and collaborating with Managed Care organizations. Dr. Brumley held a position at Florida Atlantic University performing comprehensive cognitive evaluations for those with memory changes. This initiated the process to help patients and their families reach a diagnosis and understandng of their cognitive changes to mitigate risk factors, find treatment, and create an action plan.
Previous to obtaining her doctorate and board certification, she worked as a registered nurse for several years at various hospitals across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Her doctoral training helped to prepare her to serve the older adult population, with specialized training in cognitive impairment and caregiver support.
Completing her healthcare education and training via the nursing tract has given Dr. Brumley a unique perspective in her approach to medical care. As a nurse and advanced practice nurse (DNP), she can evaluate, diagnose, and treat an array of conditions within the scope of primary care. Dr. Brumley knows that reaching optimum health requires a collaborative effort between the patient and the healthcare system. She strives to educate her patients on the most up-to-date evidenced based practice in medicine while also listening to her patients to understand their perspectives and goals. She doesn't want her patients to fear the aging process. Dr. Brumley wants you to embrace it by seeing the positives when you feel well and empowered.
